1 year at Bali Restaurant
I found a lot of satisfaction running this Indonesian restaurant. Regular guests comment on the ambiance, both inside and at the garden. They seem to like the homey atmosphere.
The food are pronounced authentic by Indonesian, Japanese and Dutch customers. Oxtail soup, Gado-gado and Rendang daging are the all-time favourites, but the Young Jack fruit curry and Tapioca leaf curry are getting quite popular too. Of course, Rijsttafel is a must for the Dutch.
Passion Fruit Juice and Young Coconut Pudding are the best sellers in the Drink and Dessert menu.
A year ago, I hardly had Thai customers, but after appearing in a few TV programmes and magazines, over 40% of our customers are Thais. After all, both Indonesian and Thai food use similar herbs and spices like ginger, galangal, lemon grass, and of course chilli, shallot and
garlic.
The Barong and Garuda woodcarvings, together with the Wayangs and the Batik Map of Indonesia are the decorations most admired and commented on.
